EPs and Singles Released By Martin Jondo
Martin Jondo was born in 1979 to a South Korean mother and a German father. He was raised in Berlin, a known cultural melting pot. When he was a teenager, Martin used to explore the woods of the city where he grew up. With his friends, he built percussion instruments, and their jam sessions featured Martin on guitar while some of his friends would handle the percussions. In his musical “wanderings,” he came across Rastafari, and his penchant for music-making and authentic songwriting was further enriched by his awareness of the principles of the Rastafari religion.
His gift in songwriting did not go unnoticed. In 2004, he was hailed in a Riddim magazine a readers’ poll as “Best Newcomer” in the reggae music scene.
Although he was heavily influenced by Rastafari beliefs Martin Jondo, nevertheless, sought to explore the philosophical and spiritual teachings of Gandhi and of Buddha, respectively. What he learned he incorporated in his life and music. To date, he has already released 3 albums and several EPs and singles. Here are samples of the diverse work of a musician whose work will sound reggae, but the spirit expression is nonetheless that of the “travelling musician”, Martin Jondo himself.
